Our Response: The Procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability are guided by Section 9 of Life Insurance Corporation Regulation, 1959 and Staff Regulation ,1960 ( As modified up to 31st July 2012), as available on the web site (click here for details)

Our Response: The norms set for the discharge of its functions are as mentioned in the Citizen Charter and the same is published and copies are distributed among public. It is also available on our website (click here for details)

Our Response: The rules, regulations and some of the instructions are available on the website. Manuals and records cannot be made available on the website because of its exhaustive nature. Manuals in the form of books are available at all the L I C offices.

VI.A statement of the categories of the documents held by it or under its control:

LIC of India is the largest life insurer in the country, as at 31.03.2017, it has in force -

1. Individual Policies – 29.04 Crores and
2. Group Insurance Policies(lives) of 11.46Crores.

LIC of India holds voluminous information of policyholders. All the information about policies, terms & conditions, loan, nomination, assignment, alterations , etc, are kept in individual policy dockets.

The policy dockets of the policy holders are kept in electronic form and are accessible by any office of the Corporation. This information can be accessed by designated employees of the Corporation.

Further, each department/Office is maintaining their own documents/files and information which is accessible at the respective Offices.

Employees records are maintained by the Personnel & Office Services department of respective office. There are nearly 1,15,394 employees/Officers working in the Corporation.

There are nearly 11,31,181 agents attached to various offices of the Corporation. The agency dockets are maintained in the respective offices to which agents are attached.

VII. The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with or representation by the members of the Public, in relation to the formulation of policy or implementation thereof:
